Yip, it’s that TIME again. My how TIME flies when you’re having fun! I’d like you to take the TIME to read this Blog Post to discover how much TIME you have to complete this challenge timeously.

You’re just in TIME to discover what this week’s PPC is. It’s time to grab your camera and get your timing right and snap up a photo depicting, you guessed it, “TIME”.

This TIME I’m going to add something extra to the mix. You need to add an interesting title to your photo. Take your TIME to think up something clever or funny or find a quote or a snippet of lyrics from a song to use.

Try to think ‘out of the box’. Use both your title and your quote to depict time. You don’t have to take a photo of a clock or watch- use your imagination…..

Remember to upload your photo to the CHALLENGE GALLERY and then to post a link to it in the Forum HERE. That way you’ll earn your 0.25 Petal Point, which as usual goes towards your 10 points which get you a $10 Gift Certificate to the W&W shoppe.

Okay everyone, here’s a big announcement:

We’re having a Guest CT QP challenge! Woohoo!

That’s right— Weeds and Wildflowers has a pair of Guest CT spots up for grabs this spring! That’s TWO chances to become a part of our team for the season. The site CT will vote to decide one of the Guest Spot winners and the other will be randomly selected from all entrants.

Plus, since we’re making this a QP challenge, everyone who participates will receive an album of QPs! You’re welcome to participate in the QP exchange even if you don’t want to compete for the Guest CT spot.

Here’s how it’ll work.

*To enter, you’ll need to submit a quick page (QP) and an example layout (LO) that uses the QP. We want to see both your QP and your vision for it as a layout.

*You may use any of the papers and elements from Gina Marie Huff’s new Sweet and Simple LIFE Kits # 1, #2 and/or #3 but you may use ONLY these Sweet and Simple LIFE kits. In other words, you may use these kits and any of your digital scrapbooking program tools but NO other digital materials besides the goodies in these kits and certainly nothing that requires crediting another designer.

* make a 12 x 12, 300 dpi QP. We have a tutorial here. Upload a 600 x 600 image of the QP (with blanks where the photos would go) to our challenge gallery. You may use any combination of digital scrapbook papers and elements from the Sweet and Simple LIFE kits #1, #2 and/or #3 and your digital scrapping program of choice.

* make a layout version of your QP using only the Sweet and Simple LIFE kits and post a 600 x 600 sized image of it in our challenge gallery as well. We want to see how you would use this QP!

* zip up your 12×12 inch QP and your preview and then upload the file to the filesharing site of your choice (many people use sites like www.4shared.com and www.box.net for this). Please name the QP file “WW_spring2010qpchallenge_YOURNAMEHERE.png” and the folder “WW_spring2010qpchallenge_YOURNAMEHERE.zip”. Please Private Message (PM) me (kenandbelly) a link to your download. We’ll collate the files and send you links to download your QP album after the challenge is finished.

* All entrants must also post their 600 x 600 QPs and layout examples as a reply to this thread in our forum.

*ETA: There are no restrictions as to the number of photos or theme of the QP.  We prefer new QP/LOs but are not requiring them.  LOs may not, however, be used to earn a Petal Point in another WW challenge.

All entries to the Spring Guest CT QP challenge MUST be uploaded and PMed by Wednesday, March 24 at midnight Eastern Standard Time. Failure to abide by these rules will result in disqualification from the contest and the QP exchange. If you want to participate in the QP exchange but don’t want to be considered for the CT spot, just let us know when you PM me.

We will announce the Spring CT Guest Spot winners on our blog. Remember, everyone who participates will receive an album of awesome QPs!

As we continue with our 3rd anniversary celebration, we are again thinking in 3’s.  What 3 tips or tricks do you have that make your digital scrapbooking life easier? The tips can just be little things that help you when you are scrapping away.  I always learn something when I peruse a tutorial or scrap with a friend. This is a chance for you to spread your little scrapping gems to your fellow Weedsters.

For the next 3 days, we will collect these tips and tricks in the forum.  At the end of the 3 days, Midnight PST, March 19, we will choose a random winner for a WW gift certificate for $5.00.  So put on those thinking caps and join us in the forum.

Here we go. Please state your program and platform.  Most of the tricks will probably work in both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements and on PCs or Macs with slight keystroke differences.

I use Photoshop CS2.

1.  Learn the shortcut keys for your program.

There are sites all over the web with these listed. Here is a good one for Photoshop:  http://morris-photographics.com/photoshop/shortcuts/index.html#pscs2

2.  Lock your bottom/background layers.

To do this, select the layer then click the Lock icon in the Layers palette. (to unlock the layer, click the lock icon again)

This simple step will keep you from accidently moving the layer while scrapping.  It will also make it easier to select items because the selection tool will not try to choose your background.

3.  Use your up/down, right/left arrows on your keyboard to move items.

It is hard to click and drag items small distances, so just select your item and use the arrows for accuracy.

Hey Weedsters, I hope you are all enjoying the W&W Anniversary celebrations. There have been some great freebies and challenges for you so far and there are more to come so keep checking in each day to see what surprises we have in store for you.

I was having a quick look in the gallery today and thought it would be a great idea to try to get more of you posting your layouts for everyone to see and also getting more people to comment on other peoples’ layouts. So I have a little challenge for you all. I am going to start off by posting one of my layouts that I would like more feedback on in this thread . The next person to post should make 3 comments about my layout and then post one of their own layouts. The next person should make 3 comments on that layout and then post one of their own etc. etc. So at the end of the day we should all get 3 comments on our layouts - I hope that makes sense I will choose one of the participants at random to get a $5 voucher so come on ladies, let me see your beautiful pages.

Hi there Weedsters! Firstly, I must apologise for this challenge getting to you so late, but I had a few hiccups with my internet, so please do forgive me. I’m therefore also going to keep this short and sweet.

I’ve decided to keep your task simple this week as you have a shorter time to take your photos. As many of you celebrate St Patrick’s Day, I thought it appropriate to have the colour Green as the photo prompt for this week. A nice easy one. Here’s one I took.

It’s W&W Anniversary time!!  It’s the 3rd Anniversary no less, and we have a lot of celebrating to do!  First off, there is a sale in the shoppe, which starts today.  Second, we will be giving out freebies everyday on the blog.  But it doesn’t end there!  We’ve got games and some special challenges in which you may participate to win prizes.  So keep checking the blog and the forum over the next several days so that you do not miss any of the fun.
